Doctors Fine-Tune lifesaving malaria drug for kids
NCT ID NCT05750459
Summary
This study aimed to understand how the standard treatment for severe malaria works in children's bodies. Researchers in Uganda gave 90 children the standard IV drug (artesunate) and then carefully measured drug levels and key health markers in their blood. The goal was to learn the precise relationship between the drug dose and how well it helps children recover, to potentially improve future treatment guidelines.
