Blood flow clues may predict health of Growth-Restricted newborns

NCT ID NCT07193381

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study followed 81 pregnant women whose babies were growing slowly in the womb (a condition called IUGR). Researchers used ultrasound to measure blood flow in a key fetal blood vessel every week during the third trimester. They then checked if these measurements could predict which babies would have serious health problems after birth, such as needing intensive care or having low Apgar scores. The goal was to see if this simple test could help doctors identify high-risk babies earlier.
