New pacemaker approach may cut heart failure risk in heart block patients
NCT ID NCT07279870
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at two ways to pace the heart in 1260 adults with atrioventricular block (a condition where the heart's electrical signals are delayed or blocked). One method stimulates the heart's natural conduction system; the other is the standard approach. The goal is to see which method better prevents heart failure events, improves quality of life, and is more cost-effective. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two pacing methods.
