Early trial for Kids' transplant complication halted after only 2 participants
NCT ID NCT03721965
Summary
This study aimed to test the safety and effectiveness of a new drug, itacitinib, when given with standard steroids to children who developed a serious complication called acute graft-versus-host disease after a stem cell transplant. The trial was designed for children and teens who had not yet received steroids for this condition. It was terminated early after enrolling only 2 participants, so no conclusions about the treatment's benefit could be made.
