First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a short, 14-day program of isometric (holding still) exercises for the tongue, jaw, and back muscles could help people who recently had a stroke. Twelve patients did two sessions each day. After two weeks, their tongue and back strength improved significantly, though jaw strength did not. The exercises also helped these muscle groups work better together.
