Pancreas surgery mystery: could skipping drains be safer?

Summary
This study looks at whether it is safe to skip placing a drain in the belly after surgery to remove the tail of the pancreas. The goal is to see if avoiding drains leads to fewer serious problems like infections or leaks. About 234 adults having this surgery will be randomly assigned to get a drain or not, and their recovery will be compared.
