New surgical wash challenges standard antibiotics in penile implants

NCT ID NCT06489431

Summary

This study is testing if a single antiseptic wash called Irrisept works as well as a mix of traditional antibiotics at preventing infections during first-time penile implant surgery. It involves 200 men receiving a penile implant to treat erectile dysfunction. Researchers will compare infection rates over one year to see if the simpler, single-product approach is just as effective.
