Simple rinse could stop common hospital infection
NCT ID NCT07239219
Summary
This study is testing whether rinsing the bladder with an antiseptic solution (Irrisept) right before removing a urinary catheter can prevent common infections. Researchers will compare the antiseptic rinse to a simple saltwater rinse in 300 adults having their catheters removed. If it works, this approach could help patients avoid infections and reduce the need for antibiotics.
