Pregnancy anemia study: could skipping days boost iron absorption?

NCT ID NCT06492512

First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking an iron pill every other day works as well as taking one every day to treat iron-deficiency anemia in pregnant women. About 120 pregnant women with low iron will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see if alternate-day dosing can improve iron levels while possibly reducing side effects.
