Could an iron boost give toddlers a smarter start?
NCT ID NCT01481766
Summary
This study tested whether giving iron supplements to toddlers with low iron levels (but not anemia) could improve their early learning skills. Children aged 1-3 years with low iron were randomly given either liquid iron or a placebo for four months, along with diet advice. Researchers measured the children's learning abilities before and after treatment to see if the iron helped their development.
