Experimental combo for advanced cancers shows early promise but study halted

NCT ID NCT02668770

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This early-phase study tested a combination of two immune-boosting drugs (ipilimumab and MGN1703) in 28 patients with advanced solid tumors, including melanoma, that had stopped responding to standard treatments. The main goal was to find the safest dose of MGN1703 when given with ipilimumab. The study was terminated early, but researchers looked at tumor shrinkage or stable disease lasting at least 4 months as a secondary measure.
