Vibrating lungs: can a simple device get medicine to the right spot?

NCT ID NCT05366387

Summary

This small study tested whether a vibrating breathing device could help inhaled medicine reach the scarred parts of the lungs in people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Nine patients inhaled a safe, traceable mist with and without the device to see where it landed. The main goal was to see if the device was safe and could improve delivery to the damaged areas, not to treat the disease itself.
