First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looked at whether using intermittent pneumatic compression (a device that squeezes the legs) along with elastic stockings reduces blood clots in the legs or lungs better than stockings alone. It included 408 adults in intensive care who were at high risk for bleeding. The main check for clots happened around day 6, with follow-ups up to 90 days.
