Withdrawn heart drug trial aimed to slow deadly protein buildup

NCT ID NCT04843020

Summary

This study aimed to see if a drug called ION-682884 could slow or stop the progression of a serious heart condition called TTR amyloid cardiomyopathy. The drug was designed to reduce the production of a harmful protein that builds up in the heart. The trial was only for a small group of older patients (65-85 years) who had already completed a previous 2-year study with a similar drug. However, this trial was withdrawn and did not enroll any participants.
