First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study is testing a new PET scan that uses a special form of iodine (iodine-124) to see how much radioactive iodine thyroid cancer tumors absorb. The goal is to help doctors decide if standard radioiodine treatment will work or if another therapy would be better. About 60 adults with metastatic thyroid cancer who have had their thyroid removed will take part.
