Summary

This study aimed to see if eating a diet containing inulin, a type of fiber, for one week changes how many calories the body burns while at rest. It involved 61 healthy adults, some with normal weight and some with overweight or obesity. Each participant tried both a diet with inulin and a control diet without it, in a random order, so researchers could compare the effects.
