First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study looked at whether giving newborns gentle breathing support through a nose tube during the placement of a breathing tube (intubation) can make the procedure safer and more successful. Researchers observed 50 newborn babies who needed intubation in the delivery room or intensive care unit. The goal was to see if this approach reduces drops in oxygen levels or heart rate during the procedure.
