First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a nose spray medication (dexmedetomidine) can help control blood pressure in elderly patients with high blood pressure who are having cataract surgery. About 126 people aged 65 and older will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo before surgery. The goal is to see if the spray reduces dangerous blood pressure swings and improves safety and satisfaction.
