First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests the safety of a gel made from HIV medications (lopinavir/ritonavir) applied inside the anus. It is for people with HIV who have high-grade anal pre-cancerous lesions (AIN 2/3). About 21 participants will use the gel for 3 months and be followed for 40 weeks to check for side effects and whether the lesions shrink.
