Could taking drug holidays improve CLL treatment?

NCT ID NCT07014917

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking the targeted therapy venetoclax in cycles (on and off) works as well as taking it every day, when combined with another drug, acalabrutinib, in people with previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL). About 62 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two schedules. The goal is to see if the intermittent schedule can achieve similar remission rates while possibly reducing side effects and improving quality of life.
