Sleep apnea study probes immune System's hidden response
NCT ID NCT07129486
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looks at how short bursts of low oxygen (like those experienced in sleep apnea) affect certain immune cells called neutrophils. Researchers will collect blood from 120 people—80 with moderate-to-severe sleep apnea and 40 without—to measure immune activity and specific proteins. Participants with sleep apnea will be tested again after three months of standard treatment (CPAP) to see if therapy changes these immune responses.
