Breathing less air to sleep better? new study tests unusual insomnia treatment

NCT ID NCT07394699

Summary

This study is testing whether a treatment called intermittent hypoxia—short, controlled periods of breathing low-oxygen air—can help people with chronic insomnia sleep better. Researchers will enroll 30 adults with primary insomnia to see if this training improves their sleep patterns and reduces body inflammation linked to poor sleep. The study will compare detailed sleep measurements and blood tests before and after the treatment period.
