First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at whether brief periods of low oxygen (intermittent hypoxia) can improve sleep in people with primary insomnia. Thirty adults aged 18–60 who are not taking sleep medications will be randomly assigned to receive the hypoxia treatment or a control. Researchers will measure sleep quality using overnight sleep studies and blood tests for inflammation markers.
