Summary
This study tests whether a drug called interferon gamma can help intensive care patients recover faster from pneumonia caused by a breathing machine. The drug aims to restore the immune system's ability to fight infection. About 132 adults on ventilators for over 5 days will receive either the drug or a placebo, and researchers will measure how many days they are free from the ventilator.
