First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether adding interactive videos to standard care improves quality of life and recovery in patients with early postoperative bowel obstruction. 462 adults who had abdominal surgery were randomly assigned to either standard care alone or standard care plus a series of five videos covering disease knowledge, exercises, and diet. The study measured quality of life, how quickly the obstruction resolved, and hospital stay length.
