Summary
This study looked at 600 hospitalized patients with diabetes who were not in the ICU. It compared two blood sugar targets: a tight target (130 mg/dL or lower) versus a standard target (130-180 mg/dL). The goal was to see which approach better prevents serious complications like death, severe low blood sugar, infections, stroke, and heart problems within 30 days.
