Aggressive cholesterol therapy may halt artery clogging in younger heart patients

Summary
This study tests whether intensive cholesterol-lowering (LDL-C below 1.0 mmol/L) can slow the buildup of artery plaque better than standard treatment (LDL-C below 1.8 mmol/L) in adults aged 18-60 with chronic coronary syndrome. About 766 participants will be randomly assigned to one of two treatment goals and followed for at least 2 years. The main goal is to see if intensive therapy reduces plaque progression, heart attacks, death, or hospitalizations.
