Summary
This study tested a new way to treat people with opioid use disorder who also have severe infections from injecting drugs. Instead of staying in the hospital, patients received antibiotics at home along with medication for addiction. The goal was to see if this combined approach could reduce opioid use and help patients finish their antibiotic treatment safely.
