NCT ID NCT00992901

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at how gastric bypass surgery changes the way the body controls insulin and blood sugar. Some people develop life-threatening low blood sugar years after surgery, while others see their diabetes improve. Researchers want to understand the role of gut hormones and nerve signals in these different outcomes. The study includes people who had gastric bypass (with or without low blood sugar) and healthy volunteers who never had the surgery.
