First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This small study tested whether 4 weeks of high-intensity breathing exercises (inspiratory muscle training) could improve blood vessel health in 11 adults with heart disease, such as those who had bypass surgery. Participants either did the real breathing workout or a sham version. The goal was to see if this simple training could help prepare the heart and blood vessels for standard cardiac rehabilitation.
