First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a drug called tirofiban before a standard clot-removal procedure can help people recover better after a severe stroke caused by a blocked large artery. About 870 adults with anterior circulation strokes will receive either tirofiban or a placebo before endovascular thrombectomy. The goal is to see if more patients achieve functional independence (able to care for themselves) 90 days later.
