Summary

This study tested a device that collects waste from an opening in the belly and returns it to the lower intestine, helping people with intestinal failure absorb more nutrients. 44 adults who needed IV nutrition took part. The goal was to see if the device could cut their IV nutrition needs by at least half after 30 days.
