Summary
This study looked at 31 elderly people living in nursing homes who take blood thinners (vitamin K antagonists). Researchers compared a simple finger-prick test to the usual blood-draw test for measuring how thin the blood is. The goal was to see if the finger-prick test leads to the same treatment decisions as the standard test, which could make monitoring easier and less painful for older adults.
