New 'Balance Implant' aims to steady the unsteady
NCT ID NCT05674786
Summary
This study is testing a surgically implanted device, similar to a cochlear implant but for balance, in adults with severe, long-term balance loss in both ears. The goal is to see if the device can improve stability, walking, and reduce dizziness by electrically stimulating the balance nerve. Up to 8 new participants with balance loss not caused by certain medications will join the study to see if the implant helps them.
