Brain implant for dizziness? new trial aims to restore lost balance

Summary
This study is testing a surgically implanted device, similar to a cochlear implant but for balance, in adults who have lost inner ear function in both ears. The goal is to see if the device can improve stability, walking, and reduce dizziness by electrically stimulating the balance nerve. The research will include up to 8 new participants with balance loss not caused by certain medications, building on earlier work.
