First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adults with phenylketonuria (PKU) have low-level body-wide inflammation. Researchers measured inflammatory markers in the blood of 40 participants (20 with PKU and 20 healthy volunteers matched by age, sex, and weight). The goal was to better understand how PKU may affect the heart and blood vessels, not just the brain.
