First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a special bag during laparoscopic surgery to remove uterine fibroids or the uterus can prevent the spread of cells that might be cancerous. 48 women were randomly assigned to have the procedure with or without the bag. The main goal was to see if fewer muscle cells from the uterus were found in the belly fluid after surgery when the bag was used.
