New study aims to cut seizure treatment time in kids

Summary

This study tests whether a set of hospital improvements can help doctors treat prolonged seizures (status epilepticus) faster in hospitalized children aged 1 month to 19 years. The goal is to give the first seizure-stopping medicine within minutes to reduce the risk of brain damage or death. About 450 children will take part across multiple hospitals.
