Counseling program aims to stop Kids' cavities from coming back

NCT ID NCT04898465

Summary

This study tested whether counseling from a pediatrician and social worker could help families keep follow-up dental appointments after their young children had cavities treated under general anesthesia. Researchers worked with 89 families in Finland to see if this support would lead to better attendance at preventive dental visits. They also checked whether children whose families received counseling had fewer new cavities 18 months after their initial treatment.
