Summary

This study tested two ways to improve communication between healthcare providers and patients with speech, language, voice, or hearing disabilities. About 687 patients and their healthcare teams took part. One group of providers received special training, while another group also used a patient prompt list that told doctors the patient's preferred communication strategies. The goal was to see if these tools could improve patient health, satisfaction, and confidence during medical visits.
