First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a computer-based training program called FOCAL+ for teens with ADHD aged 16-19 who have a driver's license. The training teaches them to limit how long they look away from the road while driving. Researchers will measure if the training reduces risky glances during simulated driving.

What this could lead to

If successful, this training could help teens with ADHD become safer drivers by reducing risky glances away from the road.

What could go wrong

This is an early-stage behavioral study with 204 participants, so results may not apply to all teens. The training may not translate to real-world driving or reduce actual crashes.
