First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests a surgically implanted stimulator and sensor that helps people with cervical spinal cord injury regain hand and arm function. Ten participants with C5-C8 injuries will use the device to improve their ability to grasp and release objects and perform daily activities. The goal is to restore useful hand movement, not to cure the spinal cord injury itself.
