Implant tested to prevent hysterectomies after failed ablation
NCT ID NCT05227456
First seen Dec 11, 2025 · Last updated Apr 13, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study aimed to test whether a small, implantable hormone device could help women who still experience pelvic pain or heavy bleeding after having an endometrial ablation procedure. Researchers wanted to see if the implant could reduce symptoms enough to avoid the need for a hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus). The trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
