Dental implant crown attachment method may influence gum inflammation
NCT ID NCT04707716
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This completed study with 39 participants looked at three ways to attach a single crown to a dental implant: screw retention, cementation, and a friction-only system (Acuris). The goal was to see if the attachment method affects gum inflammation (measured by a biomarker called MMP-8) and bone loss around the implant during the first year. Researchers also checked gum health, patient satisfaction, and any technical problems.
