Scientists investigate gunk on heart pumps to improve care

NCT ID NCT06765226

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study examines the deposits and biological material that build up on Impella heart pumps after they are used in patients with heart failure. Researchers will analyze pumps from 200 patients to see if these deposits are linked to the patient's medical history or blood test results. The goal is to learn more about how the body interacts with the pump, not to test a new treatment.
