Summary
This study looked back at nearly 1,000 children with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis diagnosed between 1988 and 2011. Researchers wanted to see if newer treatments like immunosuppressants and anti-TNF drugs changed the need for surgery. The study did not test a new treatment but instead observed how treatment patterns and outcomes evolved over time.
