Heart study aims to sharpen bypass surgery outcomes

NCT ID NCT02527044

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a test called FFR, done before heart bypass surgery, can predict how well the new blood vessels work six months later. About 120 people with multiple blocked heart arteries will have FFR measured during their initial heart catheterization. After surgery, they get another angiogram to check if the bypass grafts are open and functioning. The goal is to learn if FFR can help surgeons choose the best vessels to bypass, potentially improving future surgeries.
