Parkinson's study: do immune drugs slow the disease?

NCT ID NCT06834191

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This observational study looks at whether taking immunosuppressive drugs for other conditions can slow the onset or progression of Parkinson's disease. Researchers will compare 80 people with Parkinson's—half on long-term immunosuppressants, half not—by measuring motor symptoms and inflammatory markers. The goal is to gather evidence on the role of inflammation in Parkinson's, not to test a new treatment.
