Could common immune drugs be a secret weapon against Parkinson's?

NCT ID NCT06834191

Summary

This study aims to learn if long-term immunosuppressive drug treatment for other chronic illnesses can slow down the progression of Parkinson's disease. Researchers will compare 80 people with Parkinson's—some taking these immune-suppressing drugs and some not—by measuring their symptom progression and levels of inflammation in the blood. The goal is to understand if reducing inflammation in the body affects how Parkinson's develops over time.
