New Blood-Filtering therapy tested for nerve disease
NCT ID NCT07154524
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing a blood-filtering treatment called immunoadsorption for people with CIDP, a nerve disorder causing weakness and numbness. About 140 adults who did not get better with standard treatments will be observed for 18 months. The goal is to see if immunoadsorption is safe and helps improve symptoms.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
immunoadsorption
What this could lead to
If successful, immunoadsorption could offer a new treatment option for CIDP patients who do not respond to standard therapies like IVIg or steroids.
What could go wrong
This is an early observational study, not a randomized trial, so results may not prove effectiveness. The treatment is only for those who fail other therapies, and its safety and benefit are still uncertain.
